Dr. M. Hikmet Boyacioglu
Principal Consultant
Dr. Boyacioglu is the Principal Consultant at CGS Cereal & Grain Science Consultancy LLC in Kansas City, MO, and an Adjunct Professor and Graduate Faculty Associate in the Department of Grain Science and Industry at Kansas State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Cereal Science with a minor in Food & Nutrition from North Dakota State University, establishing the foundation for a distinguished career as a university professor, industry R&D executive, and international scientific consultant.
Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Boyacioglu has held prominent leadership roles in both the academic and corporate sectors. In academia, he served as the Founding Chair of the Department of Food Engineering at Okan University and as Head of the Food Technology Division at Istanbul Technical University. In the corporate realm, he led major innovations at Doruk Group Holding as the R&D Coordinator and Director of the Cereal Foods Institute, where he also served as a crucial technical spokesperson for government and professional associations, as well as for legal affairs.
Today, Dr. Boyacioglu remains at the forefront of cereal science and industry leadership. He is an Associate Editor for the Cereal Chemistry journal and an Editorial Board Member for Cereal Technology. Dedicated to advancing the global cereal and grain industry, he chairs the Experimental Milling technical committee for AACC Approved Methods and serves on strategic committees for the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) and the American Society of Baking (ASB). He maintains active professional memberships with the Cereals & Grains Association, IAOM, IFT, and ASB, reflecting his ongoing commitment to excellence in cereal and grain science and technology.
Dr. Dilek Boyacioglu

Dr. Dilek Boyacioglu is an accomplished scientific consultant, entrepreneur, and Professor Emeritus of Food Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, where she served on the faculty for 24 years. A specialist in food chemistry, food quality, and bioactive compounds, Dr. Boyacioglu earned her Ph.D. from North Dakota State University in cereal science with a minor in biochemistry and her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Ege University.
During her tenure at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), she held numerous key administrative and leadership roles. Notably, she served as Department Chair for nine years, during which the department was recognized twice by ABET as an exemplary program. In addition to this leadership, she served as Consultant to the Rector, Director of the European Union Center, and contributed to several vital committees, including the Women’s Studies Center in STEM and the Center of Excellence in Disaster and Emergency Management. As Director of the EU Center of ITU, she designed strategic guidelines to streamline researcher participation in EU mobility programs and implemented frameworks to foster faculty collaboration with European networks. Beyond her teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, she has secured and directed numerous research projects funded by the State and the European Commission, while actively advising M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses.
In the private sector, Dr. Boyacioglu served as a trusted consultant to the food industry, specializing in complex R&D challenges, strategic product development, and targeted corporate training programs. Her research focused on the molecular dynamics of antioxidants and bioactive compounds, successfully bridging fundamental food science with innovative product development to ensure the highest standards of quality and nutritional value.
As an expert in sensory science, Dr. Boyacioglu has designed and implemented comprehensive training programs for a diverse portfolio of food companies globally. By calibrating sensory panels and developing standardized profiling protocols, she translates complex data into actionable product insights. With a proven track record in advanced statistical modeling, she remains a collaborative leader focused on bridging the gap between technical excellence and strategic marketing assets.
